Gerald R. Solomon has served as the Samueli Foundation's executive director since April 2008. He has refined the Foundation's strategic plan, developing long-range collaborative community initiatives to address systemic safety net needs in the Santa Ana region and STEM education deficiencies in the K–16 continuum, and broaden the healthcare dialogue to focus on a true health and wellness approach through integrative medicine practices. Gerald has a diverse executive leadership background, including a distinguished 18-year career as a civil trial attorney and judge pro tem, president of a child abuse prevention foundation, CEO of a multi-state residential and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment program, and as executive director of the North Coast Chamber of Commerce in San Diego County.
